Andre Willemse

As co-founding member of Delta Crucis Adventures and diving since 2001, it can be reasoned that Andre is one of the most highly skilled and acclaimed technical divers in the team.  With approximately 550 logged dives which varies from shallow coral dives to highly advanced technical dives up to +/- 120m in search of the elusive Coelacanth, his passion still remains dive instruction and experience transfer to new and upcoming divers. Andre’s dive qualifications and affiliation with various technical dive institutions speak for itself.

 Marius Odendaal (a.k.a Ou Sus)

With approximately 500 logged dives and co-founder of Delta Crucis Adventures, Marius shares the same spirit for adventure as the rest of the group. He started off his diving career in 2000 and qualified as 2* Dive instructor about 7 years ago. Besides the normal sport dives he is also "addicted" to technical diving up to depths in the region of 110+m. If you ask him about his most memorable dives, the SS Thistlegrom (Red Sea) will be mentioned as well as "breakers" in Sodwana.

 Don Hauman

Don started his diving career in 2009 with André and Marius as his instructors. He did his instructors course with the memorable Peter Timm, who was also his instructor for his advanced Nitrox and Normoxic Trimix. This year (2016) he was fortunate to be part of the Coelacanth expedition and did his first 110m dive. On his second dive he was privileged to be part of the team that that spotted the Coelacanth for the first time in two years again making him the 27th person to ever see a Coelacanth in the wild. He has 280 dives logged so far. Technical diving has a different focus and requires a different mind-set. BUT for Don to dive at 20 m and finding an elusive critter seldom spotted has for him a very different and magical effect that can also take your breath away. He loves to teach and show that to students.

 Iain Hickman (a.k.a Mr. Over Analyse)

After being persuaded to take up scuba diving by his better half, Iain has come to love the underwater world. He has been trained by BSAC, NAUI and most recently CMAS. His dive log accounts for approximately 200 dives, varying in location from reef dives in South Africa and the Arabian Gulf, to more obscure dives like the dry docks in Durban harbour. Iain’s main interest lies with technical diving, as well as mentoring and training of new and junior divers.

Jaco Steenkamp 

Being the youngest member of the group, Jaco quickly became addicted to diving after a lot of persuasion form the rest of the group. Although he enjoys shallow reef dives, he is more interested and focused on technical diving as well as the planning associated to it. He also enjoys the transfer of knowledge associated with diving and dive planning.
